Incident report
Saturday, June 17, 2017 // 5:32 AM

On the 17th of June 2016, just before 730 pm my car was hit in Milperra. The cross streets, people and car rego will remain anonymous, but I do have record of all of them on my person.

I was driving down the road at 60 km/h in the left lane. A car in the right lane had stopped to turn right into one of the intersecting streets. Two cars stopped behind this car. I continued to travel at 60 km/h in the left lane. As I passed the first of the three cars stopped on my right, the back right of my car had been struck my another. I then pulled over to the left side of the road a few metres ahead to check on everyone's safety and assess the damage of both cars.

I spoke to the driver, who proceeded to ask if I had seen his left blinker on, to which I said no. And because I did not see any indicators used on any cars (except for the right indicator on the very first car), I proceeded forward. He told me that he had checked his left mirror before pulling out, to which I asked, "did you check your blind spot?" he claimed that he had. His partner who was in the front passenger seat claimed she could not recall if he had checked his blind spot.

We then exchanged details and tried to determine who was at fault. The third party claimed that I swirved around his car (owned by his partner) which had already come out of the right lane. However, I recall going straight completely and his partners car coming out of the right lane just as I passed him, hence his hitting the rear of my car.

We took photos of licences, rego and damage and agreed to let our insurers deal with the situation.

At 826 pm I call AAMI and spoke to Antonio (I believe) about the situation. Upon learning my insurance had not been paid, he offered me advice on how to handle the situation.

Just before 9 pm, I enter the police station with intention to file a police report and was provided the number for the police assistance line.

At 927 pm, I call the police assistance line and spoke to Andrew. I could not make a report and was advised to wait for the third party's insurance company to contact me and clarify the events of tonight's accident.
